About Lottie
Lottie Fenwick designs technically started in 2023, but in reality it has been building since I was very young. My sisters and I were encouraged to always make cards for special occasions rather than buy them, and over time, with practice and a hint of competitiveness, the cards became more elaborate, considered and original. I still make watercolour cards regularly for friends and family, and thoroughly enjoy it.
When living in Melbourne I happened to live next door to a ceramics studio. With help from the studio team I started to experiment using underglazes to paint onto bisque-fired pottery, creating intricate illustrations that emulated the watercolour pictures I was used to making. This eventually evolved into a small business selling painted plates and platters celebrating milestones: engagements, weddings, new homes.
I loved contributing to those moments, creating something personal and permanent that would become part of people’s everyday lives.
Now, I create wedding stationery that draws on the same inspirations that shaped my cards and ceramics. Each piece is hand-painted using high quality watercolour and is finished with striking ink.
I love that each work is unique with noticeable brushstrokes, colour bleeds and tiny imperfections like paint splatters. These aren't ordinary and mass-produced pieces and my hope is that they feel personal and special from the moment they arrive, setting the tone for everything that follows.
